A unique yoga weekend at Yoga Shakti, Stockholm: Iyengar, Ashtanga, Pranayama, Philosophy and Meditation
A weekend in the rhythm of breath
My teaching is rooted in a life of dedicated study and practice of yoga and in close contact with B.K.S. Iyengar, Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and Shri O.P. Tiwariji in India. I live the practice and practise to live.
I’ve studied under the guidance of these teachers for over 40 years, spent many years in India to learn and practise with them and they’ve all given me the honour to teach in their tradition. This weekend, I’d like to share parts of everything I’ve been given in the deepest respect for each tradition.
Through a woven practice of Iyengar, Ashtanga and Pranayama, we open doors; not through force, but through attentive listening. Anna Hennig will also be assisting on Saturday and Sunday.
Schedule
Friday 23 October: Grounding into the body
17:00-19:30 We begin in the softness of the evening. Through standing postures in the Iyengar tradition, we explore stability, direction and clarity. The feet root. The spine rises. Awareness refines. This is where the journey begins in simplicity, in structure, in presence. The class will end in a silent meditation.
Saturday 24 October: The path of breath
08:00-10:00 The morning unfolds in silence. In a Mysore-style Ashtanga practice, you move at your own rhythm, guided individually, supported with care. The breath leads. The body responds. You’ll be supported by both Maria and Anna Hennig who’ll be assisting.
10:00-11:00 Breakfast.
11:00-12:00 Philosophy: not as theory, but as something lived and felt.
12:00-13:30 We’ll explore the precise and explorative Iyengar practice, focusing on twists and backbends.
The postures create space, awaken energy and invite a deeper opening – physically and internally. With support, patience and awareness, each posture becomes a place to stay, to observe, to unfold.
13:30-14:30 Lunch.
14:30-15:00 Questions and answers to reflect, clarify and integrate.
15:00-16:00 Pranayama: the breath as a bridge between body, mind and meditation.
As the day deepens, we explore pranayama and space for questions.
Sunday 25 October: Softening into stillness
08:00-10:00 The final day carries a different quality. Here, everything is allowed to settle. The morning unfolds in a silent meditation followed by a Mysore-style Ashtanga practice, where you move at your own rhythm, guided individually, supported with care. The breath leads. The body responds and integrates. You’ll be supported by both Maria and Anna Hennig who’ll be assisting.
10:00-11:00 Breakfast.
11:00-12:00 Philosophy: not as theory, but as something lived and felt.
12:00-13:30 We return to a more precise and explorative Iyengar practice, focusing on restorative postures and finishing postures. The body rests deeply, without effort or demand. The breath becomes quieter, more refined, like a subtle current moving through the body
13:30-14:30 Lunch.
14:30-15:00 Questions and answers to reflect, clarify and integrate.
15:00-16:00 Pranayama: the breath as a bridge between body, mind and meditation.
What has been opened during the weekend is given time to integrate, to land, to become part of you. A space to rest and grow.
This is not a weekend to perform. It’s a space to return: to your body, your breath, your inner awareness.
Where precision meets softness.
Where discipline meets listening.
Where strength rests in stillness.
You’re invited exactly as you are.
