The Anahata chakra: Opening the flower of the heart

When the greenery explodes in nature and the flowers show themselves in all their splendour, my heart is filled with a deep gratitude, while at the same time strong feelings of vulnerability are awakened.
What is the Anahata chakra?
The heart, with the Anahata chakra in the centre symbolised by a twelve-petaled green flower, is touched and opened. This area is considered the gateway to a higher consciousness and the abode of the soul. Anahata means standing strong in yourself, regardless of what winds prevail within or outside of you. It’s a place where love and vulnerability live side by side, and it’s precisely this combination that gives the Anahata chakra its unique energy.
Honouring the colour of nature
Anahata’s green colour symbolises the birth of spring and the return of life. Like nature’s greenery returning after winter, the Anahata chakra reminds us that there’s an eternal cycle of renewal and growth within ourselves. The colour green also represents harmony, balance and healing, which are central themes of this chakra.
Opening the heart
Opening the Anahata chakra means letting the energy of love into our lives. It’s about not only loving others, but also loving ourselves. By practising self-love and opening our hearts, we can create stronger and more meaningful relationships with other people. It’s through the Anahata chakra that we can experience the ability to forgive, understand and accept, which can lead to inner peace and harmony.
But opening the Anahata chakra also means being vulnerable. It’s not always easy to show our innermost feelings and to allow ourselves to be open to others. But by daring to be vulnerable, we can also experience deeper connections and authenticity in our relationships. It’s by embracing our vulnerabilities that we can reach true healing and growth.
Practising compassion
It’s important to remember that the Anahata chakra is not only about romantic love. It’s also about practising compassion and empathy towards all beings, including ourselves. By practising compassion, we can contribute to creating a world where love and care are the cornerstones.
Strengthening the Anahata chakra
To balance and strengthen the Anahata chakra, we can use the different parts of yoga to open and stimulate the energy flow in this chakra. Spending time in nature, surrounding yourself with greenery and flowers can also be beneficial.
Creating positive change
Let’s strive to open our hearts and live in harmony with the energy of the Anahata chakra. Let’s embrace the power of love and be brave enough to be vulnerable. By doing this, we can create an inner change that spreads to our relationships and the whole world around us.
I wish you a loving and vulnerable journey through the Anahata chakra.
